OUR COMPANY
Platinum Services Group (PSG) provides a learning environment within a project framework, which supports organisation, business and personal development principles. This concept allows us to work jointly with our clients to ensure we provide the most suitable project solutions to meet and support their individual needs.
We provide quality delivery of services through proven project processes and mentoring programmes.
Sharing our skills and knowledge allows our clients to take advantage of our individual expertise whilst providing assurances of adequate knowledge transfer to staff within their internal business structure.
COMPANY HISTORY
Platinum Services Group (PSG) was created on a conceptual platform of "quality services" in Project Management. With the introduction of XPRODi this platform has extended into "quality products"
There was a view that whilst a proliferation of Executive Management and Consultancy businesses were currently in existence in the Australasian market, there was a potential to provide Project and Advisory services to businesses which delivered proven quality and consistency.
Today PSG delivers its promise to hundreds of individuals, businesses and local government organisations.
COMPANY MISSION
The purpose for founding the company was to:
- Provide customers with an opportunity to have access to a broad range of skills, which are delivered in a consistent manner in terms of quality.
- Allow businesses to have the confidence that an organisation has the ability to provide services and solutions across ANY individual and not have to rely on specific individuals within that organisation.
THE PLATINUM TITLE
The title "Platinum" was considered ideal as it reflected the quality and point of difference the business had to offer. The point of difference being, the achievement of consistency through systems that are delivered through people, processes and products.
This philosophy enables Platinum to develop multiple points of difference within a proven framework through individuals and organisational methodologies.
SERVICE PHILOSOPHY
The business is service based, specialising in quality systems, which support Project delivery. The Group promotes good practice across a broad range of specialist partners to ensure clients have a "true choice" and confidence in receiving a quality product.
COMPANY FOUNDER

Hans Boin
Experience makes the difference. Hans Boin's 30-year involvement with projects in countries as diverse as Germany, South Africa and Trinidad and Tobago has honed his ability to cut through the complexities of a business, go straight to the core and address the issues. Combined with his sound theoretical knowledge, Hans' practical business skills are formidable.
"Just picking up technical skills isn't enough," he says. "Successful implementation comes only with maturity. You've got to understand what the clients want; sometimes you have to help them find out what they want."
One of the most crucial aspects of project management, he maintains, is to keep track of effort against progression. "When you regularly measure where you are in terms of your plan, you can calculate the outcome of the project and, if you find you're not going to meet your deadline or stay within budget, you can take measures to bring the project back on track."
A graduate in mechanical engineering (BSc) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) registered with the Project Management Institute in the USA, Hans is one of the co-founders of the Project Management Institute New Zealand Chapter.
He joined Badger Construction, USA in 1969. "I worked on projects around the world, which was great, because I lived long enough in each place to understand some of the culture as well." Along the way he also acquired proficiency in business administration, cost engineering and analysis, quality assurance and control (IS0 9000), contract management, project management and IT Management.
In 1987, he started his own project management software business in his native Netherlands, but his homeland's predominantly grey skies made him hanker after picturesque New Zealand, which he had enjoyed in 1982 when he worked on the Marsden Point Refinery Expansion.
