HOW WE ARE INVOLVED IN HELPING LOCAL GOVERNMENT

PSG has significant Local Government experience which enables skill transfer and issues facing organisations to be solved quickly. PSG also understands the governance issues facing the decision makers and the users of Local Government. We assist many councils with Training and Partnering to cater to how projects are delivered today.


IT INFRASTRUCTURE

IT Infrastructure projects are generally manoeuvred from an organisations Information Technology department. Traditionally these projects were considered technically based, but in modern business, these projects are required to deliver to all areas of the business and as such have been complex and difficult to manage.

PSG has successfully delivered projects of significant size and complexity and have access to specialised technical Project Managers and business experience to facilitate successfully solutions:

Examples of PSG's success in this area are:
  • Call Centre - Genesys CTI, PBX, Periphonics platforms, telecommunications and data networks.
  • Card based transaction system in support of the existing ATM network.
  • Enterprise Network solution - Provision for a network infrastructure solution for 1500 users across 16 remote sites with support for one primary and one secondary campus site.
  • Establish a technology (voice and data) platform for large Data Centre, relocation of 450 staff, and relocation of disaster recovery equipment from multiple sites.

SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS

PSG has extensive experience in managing the Software Sales to Project Interface. The Interface translates a potential Clients expectation via the Sales Process in what is to be delivered to the end users by a company's Operations department. This is an area that frequently malfunctions and where the expectations get distorted causing large financial impacts.

DISASTER RECOVERY

PSG has been involved in several large disaster recovery initiatives, which includes, end to end management of the Year 2000 requirements for a large City Council which entailed:
  • Crisis management planning,
  • Supply chain management
  • Business Continuation Planning
  • Continuity for access to key applications such as Water, rates, finance, office tools and business specific applications
In addition PSG has been responsible for the establishment of a large Disaster recovery site for a major Financial Institution, which included:
  • Provision for a disaster recovery facility for the bank's Contact Centre environment.
  • Relocation of all existing Disaster recovery equipment.
  • Environmental Review of the new Disaster Recovery facility, benchmarked against other commercial sites.
  • Establish a technology (voice and data) platform to support business operations at the new site.

BUSINESS PROCESS DEVELOPMENT

Business Process development supports either change to an existing structure, or the introduction of a new initiative within any organisation.

Quite often the effect that projects have on existing processes are not recognised and as a result, business operations often struggle to support the new environment and to function effectively on a day to day basis.
